Holly Archer and Andrew Heyes ran the fastest parkrun times in the UK this week (7th August).

GB international Holly Archer was our fastest sexuality this weekend. The European Indoor Champs Silver medalist enjoyed a good burn-up with a club mate at Storey’s Field parkrun. 16:20 is a new parkrun best, and not a million miles yonder from Archer’s 5k weightier of 15:52 set at Podium 5k last year.

2:39 marathoner Georgina Schwiening did us a favour by maintaining her second placed position in the rankings. Despite going 20 seconds faster, only a week later, with an spanking-new 16:32, it wasn’t plane good unbearable for first finisher at the event, let vacated the UK rankings!

We guess lining up versus a club mate who is a super-fast 1500m international at parkrun is unchangingly going to be tough (but unconfined training).

Family fun times at parkrun

It was a family topic at Endcliffe parkrun with Andrew and Lauren Heyes both posting strong outings. Andrew Heyes is reportedly eyeing up the British mountain running trial at Scafell Pike soon, so a 14:48 tune-up shows he’ll likely be one of the first to the top of the hill.

We’re guessing 3rd place Alexander Miell-Ingram is related to our 4th place finisher from last week, Rowan Miell-Ingram. Is it possible his 15:05 at Poole parkrun was motivated by sibling rivalry? Rowan still featured with another strong run of 15:28 for joint 10th with Jordan Howe in York parkrun.

In between the two family rivalries was George Wheeler of the MK Distance Project, who moreover tapped 15 minutes at Milton Keynes parkrun in 14:52. The 14:30 5000m hasn’t raced yet this year, but is unmistakably in good form and hopefully will get on a start-line soon!

Fastest event?

Three events had two runners in the top 10, with Poole, Storey’s Field and Endcliffe all sharing the honours. Storey’s Field had a 1-2, to Endcliffe’s 1-3, so technically was the fastest this weekend.
